MBA Admissions Testimonials

Thanks a million to Stratus Prep! I got accepted in Evening Weekend UC Berkeley MBA with only a 640 GMAT. This is unthinkable if I did it on my own.

Back in the early 2010, I graduated from my under grad, and applied for 3-4 MBA program, with no success at all, no phone call, no interview. I have known my counselor since July of 2015, after I attend the MBA fair and chose Stratus Prep

At first, I was very skeptical and unsure about how this would go, I was worried that I paid a lot of money and will get very generic comments on my essays. Now, when I go back to review my initial essay and my final draft, the comparison is day and night, all because of my counselor’s fantastic editing and insightful comments.

I frequently debated with my counselor to say that “problem-solving” is my core strength, in fact, I insisted on this, but I’m gladmy counselor was able to persuade me to market myself in a much more unique way. So with her suggested core strengths, I was able to identify three unique qualities that set me apart from other applicants.

All in all, please accept my deepest gratitude towards my counselor and Stratus Prep, without you guys, I wouldn’t even have 1% of chance to get in with my background and score. I appreciate all your help.

I was admitted to three schools and waitlisted at two. I honestly don’t think I would have been get into such great schools without Richard or Stratus Prep’s help.

I used Stratus Prep, and I found it very helpful. I come from a non-traditional background as a business school applicant, and so I had little to no knowledge about the business school admissions process when I started. I knew that I seriously needed guidance from people who knew the MBA admissions game pretty well, so I started looking for consulting services. As someone who comes from a humble background, I was completely taken aback by how much consulting services cost. But, ultimately, I found the investment well worth it.

I decided to go with Stratus Prep and was assigned Richard Cheng as my consultant. I found Richard to be incredibly candid and insightful. He provided thoughtful feedback on my essays and even met with me in person several times to help me prepare for my b-school interviews. The biggest way that Richard helped me goes back to his feedback on my essays, however. He pushed my thinking in a really powerful way and I absolutely loved it. The clarity and specificity that he demanded from my essays helped me gain interviews to every one of the five top business schools I applied to. In the end, I was admitted to three schools and waitlisted at two. I honestly don’t think I would have been get into such great schools without Richard or Stratus Prep’s help.

That said, I highly recommend Stratus Prep if you’re thinking about relying on a consultant to help you through the process.

I got into a great program I really didn’t think I had much of a chance with. I’m so grateful for the help that Harold and all the Stratus Prep team was able to provide.

I initially started trying to tackle MBA applications on my own. Right before Round 1 deadlines I realized my applications were not nearly the caliber they should be to get into one of my ambitious schools. I was initially very shocked at how expensive an admissions consultant could be but settled on Stratus Prep quickly after talking with some of their staff and appreciating how easy they were to talk to.

I worked with Harold Simansky and immediately we began crafting my story. His push to make me dig deeper was a tough experience, but ultimately so rewarding as we were able to create a solid framework for my strengths, story, and where I’m looking to go. The experience itself really helped me understand why I wanted an MBA and what some realistic goals were.

Harold was able to help me write and shape essays that were light years ahead of the essays I wrote by myself. He helped me shape each essay for what the school and prompt were looking for, and cut out any material that really didn’t provide a purpose or differentiating factor. I was nervous about how quickly I would receive feedback, but always impressed by the speed and quality I received, even as I was finishing applications around Christmas time.

In the end, I got into a great program I really didn’t think I had much of a chance with. I’m so grateful for the help that Harold and all the Stratus Prep team was able to provide.

I am heading to HBS this fall and I would not have gotten in without their help.

I worked with Stratus Prep and had a really positive experience. They are professional, responsive, and know the top schools inside and out. It’s a relatively small company that seems to have grown a lot through word of mouth (That’s how I heard about them.) I felt like, since they were smaller, they offered more personalized attention and customization than what I saw other friends receive from bigger counseling firms which seemed more like an assembly line.

I am heading to HBS this fall and I would not have gotten in without their help. A number of my friends and colleagues have also used Stratus. Not every single one has gotten into HBS, but they have all been admitted to top schools and feel like Stratus went above and beyond to help them craft the best possible application.

Law Admissions Testimonials

With a 157 LSAT score, I was accepted to my top choice, Fordham Law, not to mention several other law schools.

I was impressed from my very first interaction with Stratus Prep, as they were immediately willing to work with me on reviewing my applications to several law schools. Because I was applying so late in the application cycle, I truly needed a quick turnaround. Within an hour, I was assigned and introduced to a Stratus Prep Law School Admissions Counselor by phone.

Not only was his advice timely and efficient, but together we significantly overhauled my personal statement and resume to what we both agreed was a far better product. By close of business the next day, my applications were ready to be sent out.

With a 157 LSAT score, I was accepted to my top choice, Fordham Law, not to mention several other law schools. I am confident that the personalized, thoughtful and critical guidance I received from Stratus Prep was a significant factor in the success that I had during the application process!
